Silver Sponsor of UA's Concrete Canoe Team

MSG-Cleveland was a Silver sponsor for the University of Akron’s Concrete Canoe Team. The Civil Engineering students involved in the competition cast this year’s canoe, The Wright Way. Once cured, the canoe will be sanded and finished for entry in the Ohio Valley Student Conference Regional competition in the spring. Evaluation criteria include technical approach, innovative design and aesthetic aspects. Racing against teams from Kentucky, Ohio and Pennsylvania, the UA team hopes to advance to the ASCE National competition in June. The annual competition provides the opportunity to gain hands-on, practical experience and leadership skills as well as build awareness of the versatility and durability of concrete as a construction material and its application in the industry.
