The Fulton County Economic Development Corporation (FCEDC) named Cheryl Geer Volunteer of the Year for 2026! She has served the Metamora, Ohio community for more than 60 years.
MSG has a long-time professional and personal connection to Fulton County. MSG's President, Brian Geer, was born and raised there and learned a thing or two from his Mom's dedication to the community.
Cheryl has given her time and talent to the Village she loves. She served on Metamora Village Council for 21 years. She was involved in Park O Rama, the Village's beloved annual festival, from its very first event in 1963 all the way through its final celebration in 2014. She continues that spirit today through the Chamber's Party in the Park.
Cheryl has served as organist at Metamora United Methodist Church for most of her life, providing music for weddings, funerals, worship, and community gatherings. She is the familiar voice at the Christmas Parade of Lights, the Memorial Dedication Ceremony, and countless other Village events.
She has worked at local polling locations more than 19 times. She volunteers monthly at the community food distribution center. She is an active member of the Metamora Area Historical Society, United Women in Faith, the Republican Party, and Eastern Stars.
Cheryl Geer is the kind of person who makes a community worth living in. We are proud to join with the FCEDC and honor her extraordinary lifetime of service.
