The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. (MSG) has completed many multi-use trails and bike paths that link adjacent neighborhoods, encourage exploration, support wellness, and facilitate alternative modes of transportation. Paint Creek Bridge #33.7 is part of the nearly nine-mile non-motorized Paint Creek Trail that traverses through five communities. In addition to the Bridge 33.7 replacement project, MSG provided plans for trail resurfacing together with accessibility improvements throughout the length of the trail. The replacement of Bridge 33.7 along the trail was financed by both a Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) grant through the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund (MNRTF) grants.
The Paint Creek Trail was the first Rails-to-Trails project in Michigan! This project brought the trail back to its former glory by re-establishing its original width and quality, repairing various washout areas, and improving drainage. The trail is now open for all to enjoy. https://paintcreektrail.org/wordpress/
