True Inspection Services joins The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc.
Urbana, Ohio (February 14, 2025) – True Inspection Services (TIS), a 92-person construction engineering and inspection firm based in Urbana, Ohio, joined The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. (MSG) as a wholly-owned subsidiary.
Recognized as a leading construction engineering and inspection firm in Ohio, TIS boasts an extensive history of collaborations with local, state and federally funded clients, including the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT), the Ohio Turnpike Infrastructure Commission (OTIC) and many other municipalities. Their team is committed to offering a high level of quality and customer service. The integration with MSG will allow TIS to provide expanded service capabilities for clients while continuing their focus on project service and delivery.
Barry Couts, Sr. founded TIS in 2007 on the principles of truth, integrity and stewardship. TIS still stands on his commitment to building client relationships based on delivering superior work. After 40 plus years of dedicated service, Barry is transitioning into retirement and leaving TIS in the capable hands of his leadership team.
Ron Quesenberry, President, will continue to lead TIS. With TIS for the past decade, holds a total of 35 years of experience in the supervision and inspection of construction projects involving transportation, site development and coating projects. He also has specific experience working with ODOT and other transportation agencies such as OTIC and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
“With over a decade of teaming and collaboration, the TIS and MSG team members work well together and share a mutual respect and comradery. Early on, it became apparent that MSG and TIS were very much aligned on culture and core values. Joining MSG in a strategic partnership is a natural progression of our growth, affording both current and future staff expanded opportunities,” said Ron Quesenberry, President of TIS.
“Our projected workload means we’re already looking to hire new staff to support our clients. This is the perfect time for career-oriented individuals to join our team,” said Ron Quesenberry.
“We’re proud to have TIS as part of our extended team,” said Aric Bennett, Chief Strategy and Growth Officer with MSG. “Our combined staff and expertise will allow us to continue serving ODOT and OTIC while expanding our services to more communities throughout the State of Ohio and Midwest.”
The TIS staff will continue to operate from their Urbana, Ohio office, with the flexibility to work from MSG’s offices as well, which translates to uninterrupted service for clients.
