To our Clients, Colleagues & Friends,
The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. (MSG) is closely monitoring the ever-changing situation as it relates to COVID-19 and its impact on the communities in which we do business.
We will continue to provide engineering, surveying, geoenvironmental consulting and construction support services, with as few disruptions as possible and in a manner that is in accordance with the current and future executive orders and guidance. We plan to continue operations, to the extent possible, so that we can provide critical infrastructure services and conduct minimum basic operations. As critical infrastructure providers, a large number of our employees are performing their jobs at client locations and construction sites as they are regularly assigned; a few are within our offices to support operations; and many are working from home. Our clients have projects they need completed, and we are finding ways to get things done!
In summary, Ohio’s Director’s Stay at Home Order, Michigan’s Executive Order 2020-21 and West Virginia’s Executive Order 9-20 outlines a temporary requirement to stay at home or place of residence and suspend activities that are not necessary to sustain or protect life in order to preserve public safety and to not create an undue burden on our healthcare systems. As per the orders, we fall under providing critical infrastructure services within the essential business and operations category.
At MSG, the health and safety of our employees, clients and partners is our main concern. To help support the slowdown of COVID–19, we are following the necessary precautions outlined by the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC). We also have formed an internal COVID-19 Task Force that meets daily and disseminates updated information, including any new intel learned, metrics, issues/concerns and key actions being taken, to our employees daily. Our face-to-face interactions have been minimized by having our personnel work from home, conducting our meetings virtually, having field staff drive separately to job sites, etc.
As always, MSG remains committed to our Clients and their projects. As a firm, we fully believe in the 4Cs (Communicate, Collaborate, Cooperate & Commit) and even though our Staff is working remotely, we have the technological resources to access our network and several tools to aid us communicating internally and externally, including Cell Phones, Outlook, Teams, Out n About, GoToMeeting, Conference Call Lines, Skype, Newforma, Deltek, EI, etc. We are here, and if there is anything we can do to assist you during this time, please let us know. We will be sure to update you in the event that future developments require a change to our operational plan.
In closing, our hearts go out to those impacted and we offer our sincere thank you to the health-care workers, first responders and public-safety officials who are on the front lines of defeating this virus. Be safe. Stay healthy. We will get through this together!
My best,
Sheri L. Bokros
