New Hire! Billy Varney as West Virginia Transportation Manager

The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. (MSG) is pleased to announce the addition of Billy Varney, PE, to our expanding Transportation Group. Billy will serve as MSG’s West Virginia Transportation Manager. He brings a wide range of transportation-related experience, including bridge design, rehabilitation, inspection, load rating, and hydraulic analysis, as well as roadway drainage design, right-of-way, and erosion and sediment control. His previous experience also includes over 10 years of working for the West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) Maintenance Division as the Bridge Evaluation Section Head and National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) Bridge Inspection Program Manager. He also had the honor of serving as the State Bridge Engineer from 2013 to 2018 and was responsible for the Division’s more than 7,000 bridges statewide. Billy’s extensive background in transportation engineering and unique experience with the WVDOH will prove an invaluable resource for the upcoming launch of MSG’s West Virginia office.
