MSG welcomes Parvez Jafri, PE

Parvez Jafri is a highly experienced engineering professional with over 30 years of expertise in water and sewer infrastructure, capital improvement planning, and project management. As a licensed Professional Engineer in Michigan, he has led major initiatives for the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department (DWSD), including the oversight of large-scale design and construction projects, emergency replacements, and quality assurance programs.
He has played a pivotal role in spearheading the Capital Improvement Program Management Organization (CIPMO) for the DWSD following its bifurcation into the Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA) and the City of Detroit DWSD. He has been instrumental in advancing Green Stormwater Infrastructure (GSI) initiatives, facilitating MS4 permit compliance, and establishing departmental standards to support the City’s long-term GSI program. His technical background spans electrical systems, wastewater treatment, and the use of advanced project management tools like e-Builder, Primavera P6, and ArcGIS. He is known for his ability to manage multidisciplinary teams and deliver projects that meet both regulatory and community needs.
He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Wayne State University and an M.S. in Information Systems Management from Lawrence Technological University. With certifications in OSHA safety, USACE quality control, and PMP training, Parvez is committed to continuous improvement and public service. His work has earned industry recognition, including an ASCE Honorable Mention for wastewater treatment design. Parvez supports MSG's Mechanical, Electrical, and Process group with his electrical engineering experience and his recently acquired State of Ohio PE license.
