MSG welcomes Dan Laird!

A sign of support for Western Pennsylvania and Greater Pittsburgh, The Mannik & Smith Group, Inc. (MSG) welcomes Dan Laird, Vice President of Business Development for Pennsylvania. With a deep passion for infrastructure, Dan is a servant leader devoted to organizations like ACEC Pennsylvania, Construction Legislative Council of Western PA, and ASHE Pittsburgh, of which he’s the 2025 NE Regional Director.

With 29 years of experience rooted in Pittsburgh’s architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry, Dan brings an unmatched ability to understand the needs of his clients, and present solutions to drive forward progress. He will work closely with our Cranberry Township, Hermitage, and Waynesburg Offices along with nearby Ohio-based teams to bring our key services to more Pennsylvania communities, such as roadway, bridge and trail design for State and Local agencies, site development, and landscape architecture for public and private entities, and environmental, engineering, and permitting services throughout the region.

In 2024, Marquis Who’s Who recognized Dan for his dedication to the field of engineering and consulting services. This honor marked his considerable contribution to his previous firms, including his work alongside the engineering team at the Allegheny County Department of Public Works as a Federal Program Manager. In this role, he worked closely with the Bridge Division who successfully delivered bridge construction and rehabilitation projects to the area, such as The Sister Bridges (6th Street Bridge, 7th Street Bridge, and 9th Street Bridge), South Tenth Street Bridge, Fleming Park Bridge, and Dooker’s Hollow Bridge, to name some of the more notable projects.
