MSG Transforms U of M Courtyard

Students at the University of Michigan are looking forward to spring – and the newly renovated, barrier-free 42E Courtyard extending from the North Campus “Grove” to the GG Brown building. MSG transformed the courtyard into a hillside forest with accessible passage, a canopy of trees and ferns, and filtered storm water management through a stream and waterfall. Challenges included a myriad of underground utilities that had to be relocated or lowered, while incorporating mature trees and ADA-compliant ramps into the design.
