MSG Gets ACEC Honors for Mcity Project

The American Council of Engineering Companies of Michigan recently honored firms for engineering and surveying excellence during the association's annual Awards ceremony. MSG was honored with an Engineering Merit Award for the Mcity Autonomous and Connected Vehicle Test Facility. Autonomous and Connected Vehicles (ACV) will become a societal reality sooner than most of us think. The goal of Mcity is to accelerate the progress for advancing ACV technology via a diverse "real-world" protected environment so that ACVs will eventually be safe (and legal) on public roadways. Mcity is constructed on roughly 32 acres that include the following diverse transportation environments: urban, suburban, and rural roadways; a limited access freeway with on/off ramps; rural and urban railroad crossings; intersections; traffic circle; roundabout; and a simulated tree shading and tunnel.
