As a part of MSG's Community Engagement Initiative, the Detroit Office selected The Jerry L. White Center as their initiative for 2015. The Jerry L. White Center is a special education school or the Visually, Hearing, Moderately Cognitively, Severely Multiply and Severely Cognitively Impaired students. This Detroit Public School has an enrollment of 200+ special education students ranging in ages 14–19. Under the leadership of Principal Tia' Von Moore-Patton, the staff at the Jerry L. White Center is instrumental in focusing on students' abilities, not their disabilities, while preparing young adults to live as independently as possible. MSG Detroit donated school supplies for the upcoming 2015–2016 school year consistent with the Center's motto, "blazing a trail to independence" for its students!
