Designed by MSG, the HEN-17C bridge in Henry County, Ohio, will be featured by bridge supplier, Contech, in their 2016 nationally published calendar. This picturesque bridge is part of the Buckeye Trail and crosses the old Miami and Erie Canal in the Village of Florida, Ohio, adjacent to the Maumee River. HEN-17C was designed for construction during the summer months using Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) techniques since the detour routes are in the range of 20 miles and the bridge is on a school bus route. MSG bridge engineers worked closely with Henry County and Contech in designing the structure, which is supported on piles driven to bedrock due to poor canal bed soil conditions and includes steel railings designed to resemble canal lock gates.
