The Ford Piquette Avenue Plant (FPAP) in Detroit was Ford Motor Company’s first purpose-built factory. From 1904 – 1910, early Ford automobiles were assembled there, starting with the Model B. One of the most iconic vehicles in history, the Ford Model T, was developed and first manufactured there from 1908-1910. Albert Kahn Associates and MSG are working for the Model-T Automotive Heritage Complex, Inc., (dba) the Ford Piquette Avenue Plant to help preserve the plant, which is now open as a museum. Our Cultural Resources team researched a wide variety of sources and coordinated historical information as part of the plant renovation project. Learn more about the FPAP and efforts to preserve the plant and its history in this recent article in the Model T Times. Additional information on the plant and a virtual tour can be found at https://www.fordpiquetteplant....
