Congressman Walberg Visits Frenchtown Resort District Authority

The Frenchtown Charter Township Resort District Authority met with US Congressman Tim Walberg on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 to apprise him of Authority activities, particularly the seawall rehabilitation project, and explore how to obtain FEMA recognition of the substantial private investment made into mitigating the flood risk of area residents. Some next steps were identified and will be followed up on.
Following the meeting, the Congressman visited the Detroit Beach construction site. The tour was led by Larry Smith, Director of the Resort District Authority and Barry Buschmann, Senior VP of MSG, who designed and is overseeing the construction of the project. Dave Wehner, Senior Construction Engineer of MSG, is providing the engineering management services for the Resort District Authority and Adam Berry, Project Supervisor for the contractor, Toledo Caisson Corporation of Ottawa Lake, Michigan were also available to answer the Congressman's questions. "I am very impressed with the quality of this project especially since it is being constructed without Government funding" stated Congressman Walberg.
