Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent - Dundee, MI - Part-time Position
Minimum Requirements:
• Five (5) years Wastewater Treatment Plant operating experience
• Class B Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator Certification license
• Proficient in math and have the ability to use a computer
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to respond timely to emergency callouts including nights and weekends along with occasional weekend rotational work
• Ability to pass a medical physical prior to employment
• Pass random drug screening throughout employment
Essential Job Responsibilities:
• Operation of WWTP to meet all NPDES requirements
• Collect and accurately perform laboratory analysis and chemical analysis requiring the ability to identify colors and perform mathematical calculations up through Algebra.
• Read and examine records and reports; answer phones; take messages; monitor and inspect plant and equipment.
• Make necessary pump changes; backwash filters; perform routine cleaning tasks; assist maintenance; climb stairs and ladders; other duties as assigned.
• Read, observe, and record designated operating gauges.
• Place orders for maintenance items, spare parts, lab supplies, etc.
• Schedule electrical and mechanical maintenance/repair and work with outside vendors/contractors
• Prepare monthly Discharge Monitoring Reporting (DMR’s) on MI Waters website.
• Lift up to 50 lbs
• Operate and perform basic maintenance on plant machinery and equipment.
